The wait is over for every 90s kid who wore out their Practical Magic VHS. Practical Magic 2 arrived on digital platforms including Prime Video on Tuesday, Oct. 13, about a month after its Sept. 10 theatrical debut. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are back as Sally and Gillian Owens, and they’re still wrestling with that stubborn family curse.
Joining the coven this time are Joey King and Maisie Williams as Sally’s daughters Kylie and Antonia, while Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest return as everyone’s favorite aunts, Franny and Jet. The sequel is based on Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel The Book of Magic, so the story comes straight from the original author’s universe rather than a Hollywood invention.
If you’re a physical media collector, mark your calendar: Blu-ray, 4K and DVD versions arrive Dec. 1, and preorders are open now. For everyone else, it’s streaming tonight. So which Owens sister were you always more of, Sally or Gillian? Tell us in the comments.
