Pierce Brosnan is considering walking away from the $100 million Malibu home he and wife Keely Shaye Smith have shared for 26 years. The actor, 73, told The Times that wildfire risk, earthquake fault lines, and the isolation of the property have him thinking about a move. Their home survived the January 2025 Palisades Fire, which burned over 23,000 acres and destroyed more than 6,500 structures, and a 2015 fire caused roughly $1 million in damage.

Brosnan didn’t mince words about the fear factor, saying,“We live by this body of earth’s water on a fault in a ring of earthquakes. That creates a fear.”He also admitted that he and Smith have become somewhat reclusive over the years, keeping a small circle of friends. The couple met in 1994 and married in 2001.

It’s a rare peek into why even the most glamorous addresses can lose their shine. Sometimes safety and peace matter more than square footage and ocean views. So what would you do in his shoes? Would you stay for the scenery or pack up for peace of mind? Let us know in the comments.
