Taylor Swift is officially a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer. The pop superstar was inducted into the Class of 2026 at the 56th annual gala held at Music City Center, recognizing her two decades of songwriting that shaped both country and pop music. Brad Paisley inducted her with a heartfelt speech, telling her,“At your core, you’re a songwriter,”while Lainey Wilson performed a stunning rendition of“Love Story”in her honor.

The night also celebrated George Strait, who received the career maker award for recording 264 songs written by 72 Hall of Fame members. In true Strait fashion, he kept it humble:“They made my career. I didn’t make theirs.”Six new members joined the Hall this year: Swift, J.I. Allison, Bruce Channel, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp and Lee Thomas Miller, who delivered a powerful speech urging advocacy for songwriter rights.

The ceremony also included a memorial tribute to late announcer Bill Cody and eight songwriters who passed away over the past year. It was a night that reminded everyone why Nashville is called Music City: the songwriters behind the songs are the real stars.
