The outdoor community is mourning the loss of Laura Viktoria Härtig, known online as AllTimeLaura, who passed away on July 12 at age 30 from injuries sustained in a tragic bicycle accident. The incident occurred on June 23 in Italy’s Dolomite mountain range when Härtig’s bicycle collided head-on with a motorcycle being driven uphill by 57-year-old Peter Runggaldier, a former Italian Olympic alpine skier. The impact was severe enough to split her bicycle in half and eject her into the road. She was resuscitated at the scene and airlifted to a hospital in Bolzano, eventually transferred to Bavaria where she succumbed to her injuries nearly three weeks later.

The timing makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking. Just two days before the accident, on June 21, Härtig had married her husband Tilman and shared wedding photos on Instagram with the caption“Soulmate for life.”What should have been the beginning of a beautiful chapter in her life was cut devastatingly short. Runggaldier, the motorcyclist involved in the collision, sustained serious fractures and abdominal injuries and has since requested privacy through social media while he recovers. The Trento Prosecutor’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This tragedy reminds us of the fragility of life and the importance of safety, even during our happiest moments. Härtig’s legacy as an outdoor enthusiast and content creator who inspired others to explore nature will continue to impact her followers. Her story has sparked conversations about road safety in mountainous regions and how quickly circumstances can change. What safety measures do you think should be prioritized in areas like the Dolomites where both cyclists and motorists share challenging roads?
