Olivia Rodrigo is officially joining the holiday music club. On Monday she released a 40-second teaser for“Take Me Home (4 Christmas),”her first-ever holiday track, and it’s a festive little rollercoaster. The clip features Sex and the City icon Cynthia Nixon and SNL cast member Ben Marshall locked in an intense game of Heads Up, complete with holiday sweaters, a crackling fireplace, and a decorated Christmas tree. You can hear them shouting guesses like“Is it a human?”and“Am I a president?”while the actual song stays completely under wraps.
Rodrigo also unveiled the single artwork Monday, showing her in a red Santa hat and a candy cane-themed top, fully leaning into the holiday aesthetic. It’s her first new release since June’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Not a bad way to close out a massive year.
The full song arrives Thursday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. ET, so clear your evening. The teaser gives us zero audio from the track itself, which means we’re all just speculating until then. Are you planning to stay up for the drop, or is November 5 still too early for Christmas music in your book?
