Olivia Rodrigo just gave fans the tiniest crumb and the internet is already feasting. On Monday (Oct. 12), she posted an Instagram Story of what appears to be a studio session, and the voice in the clip sounds unmistakably like Chappell Roan. The line?“Ooh, Olivia does remixes now.”No caption, no tag, no follow-up. Just pure chaos in five seconds or less.
The leading fan theory is that the remix is for“Expectations,”a standout track from Rodrigo’s album You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love. That album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it her third consecutive chart-topper, and all 13 tracks landed in the top 30 back in June. So yeah, there’s plenty to work with. Neither artist has confirmed anything, and Billboard reached out to Rodrigo’s reps for comment.
What makes this rumor feel so believable is the history between these two. Chappell Roan opened for Rodrigo on the GUTS World Tour in 2024, and she joined the all-women lineup at Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival in August. They’ve been mutual fans for years, so a real collaboration wouldn’t exactly be a shock. Until we get official word, all we can do is speculate and hit refresh.
Which song would you want them to remix together? Let us know in the comments.
