Former Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain is out promoting his memoir Hello Boys and Girls!, and he brought some receipts with him. In a new Telegraph interview, he revealed that a Republican friend tried to arrange a golf outing with Donald Trump. McBrain’s answer was short and final:“No. No, mate.”But he didn’t leave it there. He also said Trump and his cronies should be put in jail, pointing to narcissism, the Epstein files, the war on Iran, and Pete Hegseth.
For context, McBrain spent 42 years behind the kit for Iron Maiden before retiring in late 2024, so he’s earned the right to say whatever he wants. He’s also got plenty coming up: the memoir arrives November 10th, and Iron Maiden just announced a Spring 2027 North American tour with Bullet for My Valentine and The Raven Age.
Whether you agree with him or not, the man delivered one of the most quotable celebrity moments of the year with barely any words at all. The“no, mate”is already doing numbers online.
Would you rather a celebrity tell you exactly what they think, or keep it to themselves? Sound off.
