Nathan Fielder's Elizabeth Holmes Doc Meets Alaska's Two-Dan-Sullivan Ballot Mystery on Freed Up's Halloween Episode

Reason’s Freed Up went all out for Halloween this year, with hosts Robby Soave and Christian Britschgi in costume while reviewing Nathan Fielder’s new documentary You Can See Everything. The film takes on Elizabeth Holmes and her Theranos fraud, and the hosts spent a healthy chunk of the episode debating whether it’s a real documentary or a biographical drama in disguise. They compared it to The Dropout, and Britschgi even defended his own written critique of the film on the air.

The second half jumped straight into Alaska politics, where reports say Mary Peltola’s Senate campaign helped recruit a second candidate named Dan Sullivan to confuse voters who meant to support incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan. Two candidates, one famous name, and a lot of potential for accidental misvotes. The hosts also noted that Freed Up will be broadcasting live for the 2026 midterm elections, which now looks like appointment listening.

One bonus note: freedup is available wherever you get your podcasts, and this episode is the perfect intro if you like your culture discourse with a side of election weirdness. Do you think the two-Dan-Sullivan story is a dirty trick or just clever campaigning? Sound off below.
