Miley Cyrus had a story to tell at the Hollywood Bowl, and it wasn’t about the setlist. During her sold-out weekend shows, Miley told the crowd about a Dolly Parton mannequin in her bedroom. She lit a candle, played“Jolene,”and said,“Dolly, if you’re here right now, flicker the lights.”According to Miley, the entire hallway started flickering. She told the audience she felt Parton with her before singing“Jolene”live.

The tribute ran all weekend. Cyrus wept while singing“Used To Be Young”holding a framed photo of her godmother. She displayed Parton’s Walk of Fame star during“Walk of Fame,”and on Friday night she told the crowd,“Me and Dolly, we are eternal. Nothing in this life could ever tear us apart.”Parton died Aug. 25 at 80 after a brief battle with cancer.

There were lighter moments too. Fiancé Maxx Morando joined Miley on drums for the encore,“Let’s Get Married,”while Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne guested on“Karen Don’t Be Sad.”Have you ever felt a sign from someone you lost? Tell us your story.
