Melissa Rycroft’s legal troubles escalated fast. Court records show her September 2025 DWI arrest in Tarrant County came with a blood alcohol level of .26, more than three times the legal limit. In August 2026 she pleaded guilty and received 20 months of probation instead of 280 days in jail, along with a $2,000 fine, 36 hours of community service, an ignition interlock device and an alcohol abstinence requirement.

That deal was barely two months old when police say she struck a stopped Southlake Fire Department ambulance on October 31, 2026, and left the scene. The former Bachelor contestant and Dancing With the Stars winner now faces a second DWI charge, plus accident over $200 in damage and driving with an invalid license. Bond was set at $9,000.

On November 3, Rycroft addressed it all in an Instagram statement, saying she’s struggling with her mental health and seeking professional care.“Life really sucks right now and I’m struggling, but I’m trying to march forward,”she wrote, adding that she’s fought this alone for a long time and can no longer do it by herself.
