A beloved dachshund named Oliver sat in the middle of a messy legal battle, with both sides claiming they were the better fit to keep the pup.

The drama between Chrisley and Landsman had escalated quickly. An altercation on April 10 left David facing arrest on an aggravated assault-strangulation charge. Lindsie claimed he attacked and attempted to strangle her during the incident, while David countered that she’d been the aggressor, alleging she’d punched him multiple times throughout their relationship. With accusations flying from both sides, custody of Oliver became another arena for their conflict when David filed asking the court to give him custody of the dog while simultaneously requesting his own restraining order against the Chrisley Knows Best star.

But here’s where the story takes a turn: The two sides eventually found middle ground. According to court documents, Lindsie and David agreed to a mutual no contact order requiring both to maintain 500 yards between themselves, their homes, and their workplaces. More importantly for Oliver’s future, the court sided with Lindsie. The order specifically states that the dog shall be returned to her, with a third party tasked to retrieve the pup from David within 48 hours of the agreement.

It’s a major reversal from David’s custody request just days before. The new agreement dismissed both Lindsie’s original petition and David’s counter-petition, with the order set to expire May 6, 2027. While the legal battle ended with both sides stepping back, one thing’s clear: Oliver’s going home to Lindsie. Sometimes the dog knows who its person really is.
