Lawton Area Transit System Closes Monday to Honor 15-Year Employee Ansara Young

The Lawton Area Transit System will suspend all bus operations Monday, August 31st from noon to 3 p.m. to allow employees to attend the funeral service of Ansara Young, Safety and Training Manager. Young, who dedicated 15 years to LATS before passing away unexpectedly on August 23rd, left a significant impact on the organization’s operations, employee development, and safety culture. Her role was critical to ensuring that transit drivers and staff received proper training and that routes remained safe for Lawton residents.

This three-hour closure affects both fixed-route and demand-response bus service throughout the city.
