Lana Del Rey Confirms Zach Bryan Collab Is Finished: "Whale, We Finally Got Our Song Done"

Lana Del Rey and Zach Bryan have officially finished a song together. The singer shared the news on Instagram Sunday with a carousel of photos from what appears to be a Massachusetts recording session, complete with whale paintings and a Lord Byron quote worked into the visuals. Her caption read,“Whale, we finally got our song done. And that’s no Lie,”a pun that lines up with the whale imagery and a follow-up line about“Mother whale and moonlight roll on.”

The collaboration has been a long time coming in spirit. Del Rey and Bryan have shared festival bills at Hangout and Stagecoach, and Bryan has previously covered her song“Video Games.”Bryan’s duet resume already includes Bruce Springsteen, Noah Kahan, Kacey Musgraves and John Mayer, so adding Del Rey puts him in even more rarified air. Del Rey, meanwhile, is still finishing her country-leaning album Stove, which was previously titled Lasso, and this song could be the first real taste of that project.

What we don’t have yet: a title, a release date, or any confirmation of where the track will live. Just proof that it exists and that it’s done. For fans of both artists, that’s more than enough to start the countdown. Which one of them do you think pushed the other out of their comfort zone on this one?
