Kristen Bell stopped by Dax Shepard’s“Armchair Expert”podcast and shared a behind-the-scenes story that sounds more like a survival thriller than a rom-com set. While filming beach scenes for“Nobody Wants This”Season 3, she says she and about 10 crew members had a near-death experience thanks to eight-foot waves crashing on the ocean set. Bell wore a partial scuba suit to simulate nudity and stood in water up to her sternum while stunt performers braced each person so no one got swept away.
The chaos didn’t stop there. Both cameras went underwater, a cameraman got pummeled by waves, and Bell warned the team that“somebody’s going to be washed away”when they asked her to shoot another take. She suggested moving the shoot to a water tank, but production stayed in the ocean. According to Bell, the show only uses side angles from that day because the front-on footage was too horrific to watch.
