Kevin Federline Sued for $117K in Credit Card Debt Right After Britney Spears Support Ended

Kevin Federline is facing a lawsuit from City National Bank over at least $117,704 in unpaid debt, spread across a credit card, a personal line of credit, and an overdraft line. The timing is drawing all the attention: he signed the bank agreement in late November 2024, right around when Britney Spears’final child support payment arrived, closing out payments that began at $40,000 a month and were later reduced to $20,000 until son Jayden James graduated high school.

Federline previously wrote in his memoir that the support money went toward security and maintaining the lifestyle his sons had with Spears, saying it“easily ran well over $40,000 a month,”and adding that“the money was gone almost as soon as it came in.”The lawsuit lists the credit card debt as due August 2026, the line of credit due June 2025, and the overdraft due April 2025, with the bank also seeking unpaid accrued interest at 20.5%, 7.5%, and 18%. His attorney has not responded to requests for comment.

The story lands because it mixes a tabloid-favorite divorce with a money problem most people know too well: income stops, bills don’t. What’s your biggest“income changed and the budget had to change with it”moment? Tell us in the comments.
