Julian Edelman wasn’t about to spill the tea on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden, but he definitely had one thing on his mind: grandkids. Or at least, the hypothetical future kids of the newly married couple.

The retired NFL star, who attended the star-studded celebration on Friday, July 3, kept details of the garden-party-themed nuptials close to his chest during a Thursday, July 9 appearance on Yahoo! Sports Daily.“There was a wedding, and it was awesome,”Edelman, 40, said with characteristic restraint.“That’s where I’ll keep it. I don’t have a high enough pay grade to go into detail.”Fair enough—but he wasn’t done sharing his take on the big day.

What Edelman really wanted to talk about was what comes next.“It was an unbelievable love story, I’ll leave it at that, and [I] can’t wait to watch those people reproduce humans and make insane people for this society,”he said. The comment landed as a playful nod to the couple’s future, even as Swift and Kelce, both 36, are likely still settling into married life after three years of dating.

The wedding itself was a spectacle of understated elegance. Swift and Kelce transformed MSG into an enchanted garden with light peach drapery, coordinating floral arrangements, greenery, candlelight, and framed photos of the couple. Both wore bespoke white Christian Dior haute couture ensembles designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s, and Haute Couture Collections. Their shoes were custom Christian Louboutin, and Swift wore Cartier jewelry. According to insiders, the 1,000-guest celebration managed to feel intimate despite its arena-sized scale—complete with black-tie dress code and what Travis’s best man, his brother Jason Kelce, described as a very good time involving more than 15 beers.

Edelman wasn’t the only guest to voice optimism about the couple’s next chapter. Fellow former Patriots player Rob Gronkowski has also publicly suggested the pair should start a family. For now, Swift and Kelce are keeping the details of their nuptials private, but if Edelman gets his wish, we might be hearing wedding announcements from the happy couple again—just on a slightly smaller scale.
