The rapper and podcast host guest-starred on the episode“Property”as Big Switty, a big-time rapper caught up in a murder investigation involving a $300,000 Egyptian mask he claims is fake. Detectives find a voicemail in which Big Switty threatens art broker Andrew Carson, and the drama builds from there.
Big Switty doesn’t go down easy. He offers detectives information about Carson’s girlfriend and an alibi placing him at dinner with his manager and lawyer at 9:30 p.m. Whether that alibi holds up is left for viewers to find out.
The cameo connects directly to Budden’s partnership with Law&Order creator Dick Wolf. The two co-host the true-crime podcast Crime in America, which premiered August 11 and is now four episodes into its first season. So the crossover isn’t random at all. It’s the Wolf universe working exactly as designed.
