Jennifer Eckhart, a former associate producer at Fox Business, was found dead in her Martin County, Florida home on Saturday, September 19. She was 36. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office ruled the death a suicide. Sheriff John Budensiek said Eckhart had been taken into custody under the Baker Act six times before her death.
Eckhart worked at Fox Business from 2013 to 2020, producing programs including The Claman Countdown. In 2020, she sued former Fox News anchor Ed Henry and Fox News, alleging rape and sexual assault. Henry denied the allegations and was fired from Fox News in July 2020. The two reached a confidential settlement in 2025. In a prior statement, Eckhart said,“I think it’s safe to say that I was paralyzed by fear when I was working there.”
After leaving Fox, Eckhart launched the“Reinvented”podcast, with its most recent episode released in March. Her last Instagram post was in June. Her death has reignited conversations about workplace sexual misconduct, mental health crisis care, and the personal cost of high-profile legal battles.
