Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley have officially filed for divorce. The Grammy-winning producer and Bleachers frontman and the actress submitted a joint, uncontested, pre-packaged settlement on Friday, Oct. 30, closing the book on a marriage that began in Antonoff’s native New Jersey in August 2023.
The split wasn’t a total surprise for fans who’ve been paying attention. The separation went public in July, and speculation started even earlier when Antonoff attended Taylor Swift’s wedding with his sister Rachel rather than Qualley. He later leaned into it onstage, telling a fan who requested“Let’s Get Married”to“read the news, brother.”In October, he opened up about performing songs he wrote about Qualley, saying he initially worried about it but now finds it“really beautiful.”
The couple met at a party in 2021 and collaborated creatively during their relationship, including on the soundtrack for Honey Don’t!, which starred Qualley. Qualley also appeared in Bleachers videos, and Lana Del Rey’s song“Margaret”was written about her. What do you think: should artists keep ex-inspired songs in their live sets, or retire them after a split?
