Hayley Williams has a new look for The Hayley Williams Show, and it comes with a recipe. Her longtime hairstylist Brian O’Connor, who also cofounded Good Dye Young, built the high-contrast style by dividing her hair into nine blocked sections and alternating treatments. Natural color, existing blonde, and fresh warm brunette panels all sit side by side, giving the color a dimensional effect that reads far more intricate than the actual process.
The brunette sections were done with Good Dye Young Rinse Color-Kind Conditioner, KO semi-permanent color, and Chocolate DYEposit, left on for ten minutes before a thirty-minute total process and a rinse. The inspiration came partly from Japanese street hair, and partly from Hayley herself, who wanted more of her natural color in this era while revisiting ideas from Petals for Armor, the project cycle the pandemic cut short.
