Greta Thunberg has never been shy about calling out power, and this time the target is Ed Sheeran. In a new Instagram video, the activist said Sheeran should be“accountable for his lack of spine”over his response to the Israel-Palestine conflict, adding that staying inside your comfort zone means you’re not doing enough. It’s the sharpest public critique yet of Sheeran’s handling of the controversy.

The tension started when Macklemore was dropped from Sheeran’s tour following a pro-Palestine speech. The fallout was immediate: FINNEAS, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and Beoga all withdrew from the tour in protest. Sheeran addressed it on stage in Philadelphia, admitting he’s“making mistakes,”apologizing to fans, and saying he’s not a political commentator, even as he called the situation in Gaza catastrophic.
