Ed Sheeran Fans Demand Refunds After Macklemore Dropped From The Loop Tour

Ed Sheeran’s The Loop Tour lost its entire opening lineup in one swipe. Macklemore was removed from the trek after yelling“Free Palestine”during a New Jersey show, and then Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and Beoga all dropped out in solidarity. Macklemore says Sheeran and his team made the decision. Sheeran says it was the promoter’s call after venues threatened to pull future shows, and Robert Kraft went further, banning Macklemore from Gillette Stadium over what he called antisemitic rhetoric.

Now the fallout is landing on fans. Ticketmaster is getting a wave of refund requests, and some ticket holders are skipping the resale market entirely to leave seats empty on purpose. One fan’s reasoning was simple: empty seats will impact his tour a lot more than resold tickets. With ten North American shows still on the schedule through December, those rooms could look very different than anyone planned.

Macklemore hasn’t backed down either, saying that if his words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where he stood. So we want to hear from you: if the lineup changes after you buy, should you get your money back?
