Dorit and PK Kemsley are inching toward the finish line of their divorce, but not without a few bumps in the road. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her estranged husband reached a partial financial settlement Wednesday at Los Angeles County Superior Court after a full day of meetings between their legal teams. No dollar amounts were revealed, because obviously that part stays behind closed doors.

Judge George Bird spent nearly an hour in chambers with both sides before sending them to another department to work through their custody differences. The pair, who seemed nervous and stressed throughout the day, are now ordered to attend virtual mediation on December 2 to sort out custody of their sons, Jagger, 12, and Phoenix, 10. Dorit even requested a cigarette break during the negotiations, because a courtroom marathon does that to a person.

Both exes return to court on November 24 to continue settlement talks, and the judge’s reminder was blunt: put the children first. One courtroom quote captured the vibe perfectly, noting that every time the case is called, it feels further from over. Still, a partial deal is a partial win.
