The Playboy Mansion had a lot of nicknames over the years, but apparently one of them belonged to Jack Nicholson. Crystal Hefner said on her“After the Mansion”show that residents used to call the estate“Jack Nicholson’s drive-thru”because the Oscar winner would drive up, grab food or whatever else he could get, and leave without sticking around.
The detail gets stranger when you add his daughter into the mix. Lorraine Nicholson wrote in a 2024 Vanity Fair essay that she actually spent more time at the Mansion than her father did, brought there by her nanny, a former social secretary to Hugh Hefner. Crystal also said fame was the thing Hef cared about most, and any celebrity visitor got the full VIP treatment.
The lighthearted story comes with a heavier context. Crystal recently alleged on a podcast that Hefner raped her during their relationship, and she’s been openly critical of him since his death in 2017, including in her 2024 memoir. She and Hefner married in 2012 and remained married until he died at 91.
