When a scheduled performance turns into a night of chaos, the aftermath can involve much more than a canceled show. Country singer Bailey Zimmerman is now facing the legal consequences of an incident at Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque on May 27, after authorities say he trashed his hotel room and caused over $16,000 in damage.

According to court documents filed in Bernalillo County on June 18, prosecutors are pursuing a felony charge for criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor charge for falsely obtaining services. The arrest warrant was issued after repeated attempts to reach the singer and his team went unanswered.

The trouble started during sound check, where resort security reported seeing Zimmerman appearing intoxicated throughout the evening. Court records describe him stumbling, falling, and acting belligerently on stage—throwing microphones, tossing cymbals, and knocking over parts of the drum kit. He stormed off multiple times before abandoning sound check entirely to return to his room. On his way to a car, he allegedly spit toward a security officer and complained about the vehicle color before eventually complying.

The state of Zimmerman’s condition was evident when he returned to the resort. According to the affidavit, he was stumbling so severely that his shoe came off, his knee was bleeding, and he needed support from someone in his group just to walk down the hallway. He canceled that night’s performance, and the resort ultimately kicked him out—though not before calling police when he initially refused to leave on the provided bus.

What housekeeping discovered the next day painted a picture of significant destruction. The damage included a destroyed TV, phone, coffee table, and two chairs, plus a hole in one wall, damage to other walls, carpet stains, and two missing chairs. The hotel also noted that Zimmerman had charged over $400 in alcohol to his room without settling the tab. It’s a stark reminder that what happens in a hotel room doesn’t stay private when there’s a bill to answer for.
