Cardi B is set to become the first-ever Global Woman of the Year at Billboard Canada’s Women in Music celebration, taking place November 24 at Rebel in Toronto. The honour recognizes her massive worldwide influence, backed by 46 charting songs on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, including eight top 10 hits, and a sold-out North American arena tour. The third annual event will also honour Live Nation Canada chief commercial officer Melissa Bubb-Clarke with Executive of the Year and MusiCounts president Kristy Fletcher with the Impact Award.
The Canadian charts had a huge week too. Drake’s deluxe project Habibti returned to No. 1 on the Canadian Albums chart, marking his record 17th chart-topping album in Canada. Over on the Canadian Hot 100, Ella Langley’s“Choosin’Texas”reclaimed the top spot for a 22nd non-consecutive week, one of the longest runs in recent memory.
For Backstreet Boys fans heading to Toronto, Live Nation confirmed it will proactively relocate fans whose seats at Rogers Centre were flagged as partially obstructed after additional production details emerged post-presale. Impacted ticket holders will be moved to comparable full-view locations before their show. The residency now spans 12 nights from February 12 to March 7, setting a stadium record.
