A business owner who goes by Zero Dollar Coach on TikTok just became the internet’s favorite boss. In a viral video, he said he doesn’t care how long his employees take for lunch, even if it stretches to two hours. The catch: the work gets done, customers are taken care of, and nobody on the team gets left covering the gap. He also pays them for lunch and doesn’t track the time.

The reaction was massive, with 312,000 likes and thousands of comments. Plenty of people said they’d work harder for a manager who offers that kind of autonomy, while others pointed out that flexible breaks can fall apart when coverage is tight. The most striking comments came from healthcare workers, who shared that they get 30-minute breaks on 12-hour shifts and sometimes can’t take them at all. The creator responded that he’d address coverage concerns individually rather than watching everyone with a stopwatch.
