The BBC has confirmed that Blue Planet 3 is going live. Hans Zimmer returns to score the six-part series, which premieres later this year with Sir David Attenborough narrating, and in May 2027 that score hits UK arenas with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra performing in person.
The concert pairs specially curated footage on a tennis court-sized Ultra HD LED screen with the orchestra playing live, and executive producer Elizabeth White hosts. Zimmer composed the score alongside Thom Lukas and Laurentia Editha from Bleeding Fingers Music, so expect the same sweeping, emotional sound that made the series a phenomenon.
Tickets for Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow go on sale Friday, October 16. A London date will be announced soon, so keep an eye out if your city isn’t on the list yet. With Blue Planet 2 standing as the most-watched British show of 2017, this tour is shaping up to be one of 2027’s biggest events.
