When a relationship ends, tensions run high. But Crispin Glover’s breakup with his ex-girlfriend has spiraled into a legal battle with competing claims of assault, false imprisonment, and worse — all centered around a Los Angeles home and two cats.

According to a declaration filed Tuesday as part of her ongoing lawsuit against the actor, the woman alleges that Glover locked her out of the bedroom where he’d allowed her to live after she relocated from the United Kingdom to be with him. She claims that when she attempted to retrieve her cats from the room, Glover physically attacked her. What followed, she says, was a false police report that landed her in jail for several nights.

The timeline matters here. The relationship deteriorated in early 2024, and the woman contends that Glover explicitly told her she could collect her belongings. Yet when she lawfully entered to get her cats, she alleges he became violent and then portrayed her as an intruder to law enforcement. A restraining order he filed was ultimately dismissed after he failed to show up in court to pursue it — a detail that raises questions about how serious the threat actually was in his mind.

The woman’s declaration paints a picture of ongoing surveillance and manipulation. She claims Glover monitored her social media religiously after the alleged assault, and even sent her birthday wishes and messages saying he wished things had turned out differently. These aren’t the actions of someone who felt they needed legal protection, she argues. In her lawsuit, she alleges Glover attempted to turn her into a“sex slave”and waged a smear campaign that damaged her reputation and mental health.

Glover’s response, filed last month, denies the sex slavery claim and frames her lawsuit as an extortion attempt. He acknowledges they had a consensual romantic relationship but claims she started“acting erratically”and told people they’d gotten married in an Islamic ceremony. He also alleges she threatened and physically attacked him.

When both sides claim the other threw the first punch, and restraining orders get dismissed for lack of follow-through, the truth becomes murky. What’s clear: this is a messy dissolution with serious allegations on both sides, and the courts will ultimately determine who’s credible.
