Amy Duggar is publicly standing with the girl at the center of her cousin Joseph Duggar’s case. On the“Fire Chats: The Mindfire Pod,”she said she reached out to the girl who accused Joseph of molesting her during a 2020 family vacation, and that they remain in contact. She told her she’s proud of her for speaking out and encouraged her to stay strong ahead of the trial.

Joseph, a former 19 Kids and Counting star, was arrested in March and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12. He pleaded not guilty, requested a jury trial, and was released on a $600,000 bond. A judge has since denied his request to work at rental properties within 500 feet of the alleged victim and denied unsupervised contact with his four children with wife Kendra.

Amy said she hasn’t spoken with Joseph in five or six years, and her message was direct:“I will always stand up for the victim. I will always speak up for the victim,”adding,“I hope justice is served ice cold. I really do.”Do you think more family members should speak out in cases like this? Sound off in the comments.
