The Wayne County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of adult film star Christian Styles accidental, citing alcohol and mitragynine toxicity as the cause. Styles, whose real name was Zachary Christian Jaghab, was 29 when he was found unresponsive by his parents on August 20, 2026. His blood-alcohol level was 0.168, and mitragynine, the active compound in kratom, was present in his system along with its breakdown products. Lexapro and kratom were found at the scene.
According to the report, Styles had a history of heroin, methamphetamine, and alcohol use, and his parents had been checking on him hourly during a prolonged bender before discovering him. His family’s GoFundMe described him as a cherished youngest son, a beloved brother to Tonya Faris and Jacob Jaghab, and an adored uncle and friend. The fundraiser also noted that his parents are facing serious health struggles of their own, including cancer.
