The Voice season 30 premieres its Cut Week twist tonight, and Adam Levine is already giving fans the soundbites. The new format is the biggest elimination in show history: each coach sends two artists straight to the Live Shows while five more compete for one remaining team spot. Once the top 12 is set, fans can vote by text and TikTok to send one final artist through.

Levine returns alongside Kelly Clarkson and first-time coaches Riley Green and Queen Latifah, and he says the chemistry between the four of them clicked right away. Asked about Green, Levine couldn’t resist the comparison fans expected, joking that the country star reminds him of a younger, funnier, better-looking Blake Shelton. Former coach or not, the rivalry energy is clearly alive and well.

There’s music news too. Levine says new Maroon 5 material and solo work are in the works, though he’s staying quiet on timing. With Cut Week raising the stakes, which coach do you think builds the strongest team this season?
