The 2026 Kennedy Center Honors class is set, and it’s one of the most genre-spanning lineups in years. Paul Anka, David Foster, Andy Garcia, David Mamet and Barbara Mandrell will be celebrated at the 49th annual ceremony on December 7. Three of the five honorees were born outside the U.S. — Anka and Foster in Canada, Garcia in Cuba — a reminder that the artists who shape American culture don’t all start here.

The biggest change this year isn’t the list, it’s the location. The ceremony moves from the Kennedy Center Opera House to Capital One Arena, trading the intimate black-tie room for a full-scale arena show. Boeing comes on as exclusive underwriter, but no broadcast partner has been announced, even though CBS has aired the Honors since 1978. That open question has the industry watching closely.

A few numbers worth noting: Anka is 85, the oldest honoree, while Garcia is 70, the youngest. And Mandrell becomes just the fourth female country artist ever honored, joining Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. Which of these five are you most excited to see celebrated?
