Wladimir Klitschko Files for Guardianship of Daughter Kaya's Inheritance After Hayden Panettiere's Death

Wladimir Klitschko has filed an urgent legal request in Los Angeles to be named temporary guardian of his 11-year-old daughter Kaya’s estate. According to court documents, Kaya is entitled to the entirety of Hayden Panettiere’s assets, and Klitschko argues there is currently no personal representative in place to safeguard them. In the filing, he also claims that federal agents entered Panettiere’s LA home and removed property belonging to the estate, and that non-family members have accessed and destroyed emails.

The filing comes less than two months after Panettiere died on August 16 at age 35. She passed away in a South Carolina Airbnb from the toxic effects of multiple drugs, including fentanyl. Fans who followed her career remember her openness about postpartum depression and addiction; she gave up custody of Kaya in 2018 and later said the idea that anyone would think she simply gave away her child and was okay with it was heartbreaking.

Now the focus shifts to Kaya’s future and who gets to protect it. Klitschko’s request cites the risk that estate property could be misappropriated while the investigation into Panettiere’s death continues.
