Wisin has a brand-new team, and the industry is paying attention. The Puerto Rican reggaeton star signed with WME for representation in all areas, Billboard announced Monday. The move comes just weeks after he joined forces with manager Chris Duque at D27 Entertainment, closing out nearly ten years with former manager Walter Kolm. New management, new agency, new chapter.
The résumé speaks for itself. Wisin has racked up 24 No. 1s on Latin Airplay, including a monster 11-week run at the top with“Duele El Corazón,”his 2016 collab with Enrique Iglesias. He also recently released La Universidad del Perreo, proving the veteran still has plenty of gas in the tank while the new wave of reggaeton stars looks on.
But the most interesting part? Wisin says he’s ready to expand beyond music. After helping shape reggaeton into the global sound it is today, he’s eyeing new audiences and new markets. With WME behind him, doors could open in film, touring, and branding. What era of Wisin are you most excited for? Sound off in the comments.
