Will Friedle is giving us all a reminder to listen to our bodies, and to our spouses. The“Boy Meets World”alum, 50, was rushed to the hospital last week after noticing blood in his urine in the middle of the night. His wife, Susan Martens, spotted that he had gone pale and urged him to get checked out, where doctors diagnosed a kidney stone. Friedle shared the whole story on Thursday’s episode of his“Pod Meets World”podcast, joking that he might have to step away early to pass the stone.
The hospital visit came with a side of nostalgia. Friedle said doctors and nurses kept recognizing him from his days as Eric Matthews, and one nurse even busted out the famous Feeny call at his bedside. That prompted one of the best lines of the episode:“For some reason, on this day, in that hospital, I was more famous than I’ve ever been in my life.”
Friedle has been open about his long-term anxiety struggles, and he touched on it again during the episode, saying,“I never tell people you get over it because you never do, but you learn to cope with it in such a way where it just becomes a nuisance.”He says he’s still in the process of passing the kidney stone, so keep him in your thoughts.
Have you ever had a kidney stone or a hospital story that started with someone telling you to just go get checked out?
