Whoopi Goldberg Is Leaving "The View" for Two Weeks, and Four Former Co-Hosts Are Taking Her Seat

Whoopi Goldberg is stepping away from“The View”for two weeks, and she’s not going on vacation. She’s filming“Women Like Us,”a new movie produced by Barack and Michelle Obama. The cast also includes Vivica A. Fox, Vanessa Williams and Jennifer Lewis, and Whoopi described the film on the“Behind the Table”podcast as a story about change, getting older, and having fun with the friends who get you.

While she’s gone, the show is pulling off a rare reunion. Former co-hosts Lisa Ling, Star Jones, Sherri Shepherd and Debbie Matenopoulos will rotate into her seat, with Joy Behar moderating Hot Topics. Whoopi will still appear on Mondays, so fans won’t go a full week without her. She also had a very Whoopi answer for why she keeps booking new projects, saying,“A girl’s gotta eat, and I never married well, so, I still have to support myself!”
