Vivienne Jolie-Pitt Is Officially Vivienne Jolie After Judge Approves Name Change

Vivienne Jolie-Pitt is now legally Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. A Los Angeles judge granted the 18-year-old’s petition on Monday, officially removing“Pitt”from her surname. She filed the request on July 20, just eight days after her eighteenth birthday, and cited“personal reasons”in the filing.

The name isn’t a surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention. Vivienne was already billed as“Vivienne Jolie”on the Playbill for Broadway’s“The Outsiders”in 2024, where she worked alongside her mom, Angelina Jolie. The court ruling simply made the professional name the legal one.

She’s now the fourth of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children to drop Pitt from their name, joining Zahara, Maddox and Shiloh. Twin brother Knox left“Pitt”off his high school diploma as well. Brad Pitt has not publicly commented on any of the name changes.

Do you think an 18th birthday is the right time to make a decision like this, or should people wait a few years first? Sound off in the comments.
