Troye Sivan just released his new album“She’s the Best,”and the title track’s music video stars none other than Nicole Kidman. In a new interview with Billboard, Troye explained that Kidman embodies a captivating energy he’s admired in the women he’s looked up to his entire life. He even admitted he was convinced she’d cancel before the shoot, saying,“I was like,‘I’m going to believe it when we wrap the video.'”Spoiler: she didn’t cancel, and the video is everything.
The Kidman connection doesn’t stop there. Troye also gave a shoutout to ADÉLA’s hit“Nicole Kidman,”which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. He said he hasn’t discussed the song with her but suspects they were both drawn to Kidman for the same reason. Two pop acts, one legendary muse, and a whole lot of internet buzz.
If that wasn’t enough, Troye samples Madonna’s“Music”on his single“Party,”and he told Billboard he’s never chased hits in his career. Instead, he’s calling this new era a“reclamation”from playing the pop game. With Nicole Kidman, Madonna, and a fresh album all in the mix, this might be his most iconic chapter yet.
What do you think: should Troye and ADÉLA team up for a“Nicole Kidman”remix? Let us know in the comments!
