Travis Barker gave fans a scare this week when he posted a hospital photo with no explanation, then cleared it up on Instagram Stories: his arm, hand, and fingers had been numb since a show he played last month. A nerve test revealed he needed a cubital tunnel release, a procedure that relieves pressure on the ulnar nerve at the elbow.

Barker said he wanted to get ahead of it and get it over with so he can keep playing the way he plays for a long, long time. Recovery from cubital tunnel release typically takes two to three months. The show he may be referring to was a Ramones 50th anniversary set at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, where he played alongside figures like Billie Joe Armstrong, Tim Armstrong, and CJ Ramone.

The timing works out in his favor. blink-182 are currently off the road working on a new album, with live dates scheduled for June 2027, which gives Barker a real window to heal before the band hits the stage again. Have you ever pushed through pain to finish a show, a game, or a work project?
