Tom DeLonge got a moment Tuesday night that most musicians can only dream about. The blink-182 singer-guitarist was at Petco Park as his hometown San Diego Padres hosted the Milwaukee Brewers in a playoff game. When the Padres took a lead into the bottom of the eighth inning, the stadium did what it always does: it played“All the Small Things,”and 43,000-plus fans sang every word.

The cameras found DeLonge in the crowd, and he was visibly moved, welling up as the stadium belted his band’s biggest hit back at him. He didn’t stay in his feelings for long. He sang the“Work sucks, I know”line right along with everyone else and threw up the horns. The broadcast crew called it a musician’s World Series, and honestly, that might be underselling it.

For San Diego, this one hits close to home. DeLonge grew up in the county and has been a Padres fan his whole life, so this wasn’t just a celebrity cameo. It was a hometown guy getting serenaded by his hometown crowd during a playoff run. What’s the song that would get you emotional if a whole stadium sang it back at you?
