Todd Rundgren Calls Taylor Swift "The Apotheosis of Mediocrity" in Fiery New Interview

Todd Rundgren is not a Taylor Swift fan, and he’s not being subtle about it. In a new interview with Vulture, the veteran producer and Rock&Roll Hall of Famer called Swift the“apotheosis of mediocrity”and said“there’s an argument to be made that she ruined music.”He also dismissed her singing, songwriting and dancing, saying she“doesn’t do anything particularly great except grow hair.”

The comparison Rundgren drew was to Lady Gaga, who he praised as a“real musician”and a“classically trained piano player.”It’s a striking contrast given Swift’s résumé: she holds the record for most No. 1 albums by a solo artist and has taken home four Album of the Year Grammys. Her deluxe edition of The Life of a Showgirl also just dropped a few days ago.
