A TikTok from creator Jasmine (@heyjbritt) walking viewers through how to ride the LA Metro has blown up, racking up over 222,000 likes, and the comment section is revealing something kind of wild: a lot of people didn’t know LA had a metro at all. In the June 18 video, Jasmine shows how simple it is. She pays her fare with a credit card, uses the Transit app to time train arrivals, and makes the case that you don’t need a car to live in or visit Los Angeles.

The reaction was instant. Comments ranged from“I didn’t even know LA had metro”to pure disbelief at how clean and modern the stations looked. One viewer wrote,“This is my first time seeing it and it looks so nice? What DO YOU MEAN PEOPLE DONT USE IT??”It turns out LA’s rail system has been running since 1990, when the Blue Line (now the A Line) opened, and it’s grown to more than 90 stations across multiple lines.

The whole moment says a lot about how reputation shapes our choices. LA is known as a car city, so plenty of people never even consider the train. Jasmine’s hope is simple: more people give the Metro a chance, because it’s really not that bad. So we want to know, would you ride it? Drop your answer in the comments.
