The Gilded Age is back, and the Russell family is officially in shambles. Season 4 premieres tonight, Nov. 1, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max, picking up after a Season 3 finale that left George and Bertha separated following an assassination attempt on George and Bertha’s role in pushing daughter Gladys into a marriage with the Duke of Buckingham.

The new season runs eight episodes, airing weekly through Dec. 20, so Sunday nights are officially booked. Critics are already calling it the show at its most confident, a mix of high-end craftsmanship and old-school camp that’s as indulgent as caviar. Julian Fellowes, the creator behind Downton Abbey, is back at the helm, and the ensemble includes Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon.

If you need HBO Max to join the party, it runs $10.99 a month with ads or $18.49 ad-free. Whether you’re a longtime Gilded Age devotee or a Downton fan looking for your next period drama obsession, this season promises major fallout for Bertha and the family she upended.

Are you team George or team Bertha heading into Season 4? Let us know in the comments.
