A Utah influencer calling herself“Minister Veda”is selling $997 coaching packages that teach parents how to get passports for children who were never registered with the government. The pitch frames skipping birth certificates and Social Security numbers as a patriotic stand against government control. A $497 download bundle is also on the menu, and other sellers are offering similar products, including a $555“Status Correction”and a $7,777“Sovereign Conception Program.”
The ideology behind these offers isn’t new. It traces back to William Potter Gale, who founded Posse Comitatus around 1970, and courts have repeatedly rejected the legal theories involved. But the real cost lands on the children. Sarah Ashley Townsend, raised without records, faced years of obstacles getting a driver’s license and later had to amend her own son’s birth certificate twice.
The strangest part of all: the State Department already accepts secondary evidence like baptismal records and affidavits for people without birth certificates. In other words, the escape route these influencers sell already exists for free. Have you ever seen a family get pulled into sovereign-citizen ideas online? Tell us your story in the comments.
