Taylor Swift’s“I Knew It, I Knew You”is the Toy Story 5 end credits song, and it hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. But the story behind how it happened might be even better than the song itself. At a post-screening Q&A on Sunday, director Andrew Stanton revealed he only ever wanted Swift to follow Randy Newman, who’s scored the franchise since 1995. While Swift was on the Eras Tour, he simply left the end credits without an original song instead of hiring someone else. His reasoning was short:“Nothing else made sense.”

Swift, meanwhile, was more worried about who she might be displacing. She told the room she pushed the filmmakers to confirm she wasn’t taking a job that had already been promised to someone else, saying she didn’t want to“kick somebody off of this project.”Once that was settled, she and Jack Antonoff finished the track in hours after an early screening.

The song is now a chart-topper, she performed it with Newman at the Hollywood premiere, and Oscar buzz for best original song is already building. So the real question: what’s your favorite end credits song of all time? Drop it in the comments.
