Tate McRae is officially in the fragrance business. The 23-year-old pop star launched Tate 01 on Thursday in partnership with Scent Beauty, Inc., marking her first step into the beauty world. The campaign, photographed by Mario Sorrenti, shows her standing in a swimming pool wearing only the scent, with wet hair blowing in the wind. The imagery is bold, cinematic, and already generating serious social media buzz.
As for what’s inside the bottle, Tate 01 blends bergamot, clary sage, orange flower, moss, and tonka bean. It also features ISO E Super, a molecule designed to adapt to individual skin chemistry, meaning the fragrance is supposed to smell slightly different on everyone who wears it. McRae describes it as a second-skin scent that is effortless and subtly edgy. She even says she wears it during rehearsals because it warms up and moves with her body.
The launch fits into a growing trend of pop stars expanding into beauty and entrepreneurship, but the personalized-scent technology and striking campaign give this one its own identity. Would you try a fragrance that’s designed to react to your own skin? Let us know in the comments.
