Tamar Braxton is speaking out after the death of Von Scales, the husband of her sister Trina Braxton. Scales has died at 58, and no cause of death has been released. In an Instagram tribute posted Sunday, Tamar remembered Scales as a“man’s man”with a huge heart and called him one of her“Top 5”people, writing,“I have never seen anyone love Trina the way you did. You didn’t just say it, you showed it.”

The loss carries extra weight for the Braxton family. Trina and Scales had been married since 2019, and Trina’s ex-husband Gabriel Solis died from cancer just one year ago. The family is also still mourning Traci Braxton, who died in March 2022 at age 50. Tamar acknowledged how much this compounds their grief, saying,“It feels so unfair that Trina has to grieve again when we’re still learning how to live without Traci.”
