Station Casinos Gives 10,000 Employees $1,000 in Stock for Every Year of Service

Station Casinos turned its 50th anniversary into the biggest payday its employees have ever seen. The company awarded $1,000 in stock for every year of service to each of its 10,000 team members, a surprise announced by Frank Fertitta III and Lorenzo Fertitta at the celebration. The total value came out to $70 million.

The numbers get better the longer you’ve been around. Ida Johnson, who joined the company in 1977, received $49,000 in stock, which generates roughly $886 in dividends every year. Paula Barrett, with 47 years on the job, called the gift a complete honor. Seven employees have worked there 45 years or more, and with Red Rock Resorts stock trading at $54.49 a share, that loyalty just turned into real ownership.

The Fertitta brothers tied it all back to their father, Frank Fertitta Jr., who founded the company’s first Bingo Palace in 1976 on the idea of taking care of the team.
