Snoop Dogg hosted the MTV VMAs for the first time in his career on Sunday, Sept. 27, and he made one thing clear from the jump: the show is back in Los Angeles because of him. According to Snoop, he turned down the hosting gig at first, then changed his mind the moment he learned it was happening at the Peacock Theater. The VMAs had been on the East Coast since 2018, so he’s claiming the assist on the West Coast homecoming.
His monologue leaned all the way into the Snoop brand.
